Soul Chic are bringing Musical Magic to Swan Island
Sunday June 12 2022
Soul Chic make their debut on the Bellarine with a splash on the Sunday of the Queen’s Birthday Weekend. After 15 years singing professionally together in Melbourne and around Australia, Georga & Nadia bring their musicianship and musicians to the Queenscliff Golf Club for what will be a magical Sunday afternoon. With a broad repertoire, we will get a bit of Norah Jones, Neil Diamond, Adele, Pink and some classic Rock & Roll to get the dance floor full.
The time has come again for ladies to register for the Queenscliff Golf Club Women’s Open Bowl 2022. The event will be held on Friday 10th of June this year. Please click Open bowl Ladies – 2022 for more details.
Please feel welcome to email your forms back to email@example.com or drop off forms directly to the club.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Quick Members’ Update 9th December 2021
Regular players will be aware that we are having some annoying teething problems with the full implementation of the MiClub system.
Our staff are stressed and many members are frustrated that the transition has not been as smooth as expected (and promised). Let me assure you that Rob Aulich is spending an inordinate amount of time working with MiClub to eradicate the glitches which can be attributed to software issues.
The signs are clear that, when fully operational, MiClub will be a great asset for the QGC and members.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the problems.
Reg Pearce 4BB Par – Dec. 11th & 18th
Members are requested to finalise their partnerships for the 2 week event asap.
Online bookings will be paired as follows:
Cells 1 & 2 will be paired
Cells 3 & 4 will be paired
If you desire your pairing to be different than your online booking please phone the club (52 584344) and the staff will make any adjustments.
On Saturday, one card will be provided for each player and the system will calculate the team score with the best result on each hole for either Player 1 or Player 2.
Please note: There will be an Individual Par competition made available on both Saturdays for members who do not wish to or cannot participate in the full 2 week event.
When you enter your login at the club you must choose either the 4BBB Par Competition or the Individual Par competition to retrieve your card. (MiScore App. may be used for individual single comp but NOT for 4BBB)
Enjoy the great playing conditions.

Members’ Update Wednesday 1st December
The last month has been hectic at the club.
Apart from our normal, busy daily operations there have been a number of events and activities (some planned and some not) that have been well managed by our fantastic staff and volunteers.
The storm on the 29th October created havoc on the course with many trees and shrubs either uprooted or badly damaged. However, the course opened for play the next day due to the great work of Rod Fenton and his staff, assisted by some energetic volunteers. It is interesting to note that many Bellarine courses closed for a number of days as they worked out how to deal with the problem. Our immediate and effective response to the crisis was outstanding. Thanks to all who were able to help! The residual clean up continues.
Sassy on Sunday, 31st October was a hit. With some COVID restrictions still in place we were able to hold an outside event. The weather was kind and the afternoon was enjoyed by everyone. Look out for future music events. We are committed to holding a music afternoon on every long weekend for the entertainment of our members and visiting crowds. These events provide another sustainable income stream for the club.
Over the last few weeks both the Ladies’ and Men’s Championships have been run and won.
A small group of ladies contested the event with Pam Treble taking out the Ladies Championship. Congratulations!
The Men’s event was hotly contested in 4 grades.
A Grade and Club Champion – Michael Havelberg. Runner up – Tim Fennell
B Grade winner – Billy Clifton. Runner up – Robert Gourlay
C Grade winner – Chris Humphrey. Runner up – Rob Henscke
D Grade winner – John Shinners. Runner up- John Giuffrida
Thanks to Peter Kleindienst for his organisation and support for the players. We have had positive feedback about the format of the event and the camaraderie that was evident.
Well done everyone!
The membership module has been installed and the wallet and eftpos system have become fully interactive.
All aspects of the system are now operational.
The promised COVID donation of $50 to member wallets will be activated in the next few days. Also, be reminded that the $16.95 reimbursement for the MiScore App. will be made when you show the Phone App. to the bar staff.
The investment in this state of the art golf management system brings us into line with the most professional and progressive clubs and continues our commitment to improving the quality of our club presentation to members and visitors.
The Annual General Meeting
The AGM was held last Saturday (Nov. 27th).
The practice of sending the paperwork to members a few days prior to the meeting was well received. The meeting was expedited by the pre reading opportunity.
Highlights of the meeting included:
- Delivery of reports that reflected strong growth and improvement in all areas
- Elevation of Kelvin Pettigrove to Life Membership. His citation is attached.
- Presentation of new, modern Constitution for in principle approval
- Presentation of the 7 Strategic Priorities from the Strategic Plan (in final draft stages) 2022 – 2025. Copy of Priorities attached.
- Election of the Committee
President – Tony Graham
Greens Director – Kelvin Pettigrove
Minute Secretary – Tom Buxton
General Committee – Peter McSween
One year of term remaining
Brian Heron, Al Hamblin, Peter Kleindienst, Pam Treble, Bob Merriman
Peter McSween is a new and welcome member of the committee.
While having a stable, harmonious committee is always desirable, a succession plan to support healthy turnover of committee members is being addressed in the Strategic Plan.
The subcommittee structure will allow interested members to have input into planning and decision making. More later!
The club is in an excellent position with financial stability, growing membership, high competition numbers, strong green fee and social participation and exciting plans for ongoing development on the course and in the clubhouse.
Let us continue to move forward together, enjoying our wonderful Swan Island environment.

Queenscliff Golf Club presents Sunday Music with Sassy – this Sunday 31st of October 2021
Welcome back members & friends of QGC! Originally set for the QB then GF weekend – Sassy, whose previous Cup Weekend shows got rave reviews, plays homage to girl groups through the decades as well as eclectic classic hits from artists such as Aretha Franklin, Pointer Sisters and Amy Winehouse. You won’t resist singing and dancing!
Please note that this is an outdoor event with Sassy playing from the clubhouse veranda. Based on expected Covid restrictions, capacity limits are likely to be 30 inside the clubhouse and 50+ outside split between the ‘vaunted veranda’ (12) and ‘the lawn’ (set at 38+). Note when booking that the focus is on outdoor performance. The band will be clearly audible inside the clubhouse but will be on the veranda facing the lawn-side seating. Outside seating options mostly provide cover from sun & rain.
Those wonderful supporters of QGC & Sassy who have existing bookings are welcome to change their preference from “inside” the clubhouse to outside options. Simply email the club with the request.
Tix fully refundable if Covid restrictions make it unviable or poor weather causes a cancelation. Book now!
You can find the Trybooking link here: WWW.TRYBOOKING.COM/BRNJL
See you there!
Fantastic live music event in a unique outdoor/indoor setting.
Please note that all adult guests must be fully vaccinated and carry evidence.
In this time of uncertainty, the QGC Committee is still optimistically preparing and planning events and activities for the next few months. We hope that Covid restrictions and limitations on our operations will be eased to allow us to return to somewhere near normal soon. While we are constantly frustrated by daily changes to the ‘roadmap’ out of Covid, we are determined to be ready when a full operation is possible.
The following events are booked (subject to restrictions):
- Annual General Meeting 11:30am, Saturday 30th October
- Music Afternoon – SASSY – Sunday, 31st October
- Sponsors’ Golf Day, Monday, 1st November
Members are advised that Rory Monteith, a popular member of our bar staff, has a medical exemption re the wearing of a mask. His medical certificate is on display at the bar.
It is timely to remind members that ongoing compliance with all Covid restrictions while on the course and in the clubhouse is essential in allowing the club to continue to operate.
The committee has resolved to provide a compensation package to members in lieu of lost opportunities to play golf on Swan Island during the last lockdown. While our revenue has been well down over past months, we are offering a reward for your ongoing patience and loyalty.
- When the MiClub system is launched, members’ wallets will be credited with $50 (Full members and Seniors), $30 (Lifestyle Core and Country), $15 (all other categories).
- The members phone App. that accompanies MiClub is normally paid annually by members (approx. $16). However, the club will pay the fee for the first year for members who wish to use it.
- In the past we have had a variety of guest pass offers. From now on, members will be granted 3 guest passes per year which can be redeemed from Manager, Rob Aulich at the club.
We currently have 429 members (all categories) and the compensation package represents a significant contribution by the club in recognition of the impact that Covid is having on our members.
All members will receive an email directly from MiClub next week. The information package will include a practice module which will be open on Tuesday 5th October until Tuesday 12th October for bookings for everyone to try.
Please note that during the practice period all actual golf bookings must still be made using the SLICE system as we do now.
MiClub time sheets will go live on the 13th October which open 14 days prior to competitions, this will mean that on the 13th October you will be making bookings for the competition on Wednesday, 27th October. The SLICE system will cease on the changeover and will happen automatically on our website booking portal. All booking on the SLICE system between the 13th October and the 26th October will be transferred to the Miclub.
Let’s embrace this new and exciting Golf innovation which will make scoring and recording so much easier and more efficient.
During and after the practice period Rob, Rory and Lorraine will be on hand to assist members with any queries or issues.
Annual General Meeting
The AGM is scheduled for Saturday, 30th October.
The following committee members have a year of their term left to serve.
Brian Heron, Alistair Hamblin, Peter Kleindienst, Bob Merriman, Pam Treble.
The following committee members have completed their term and are seeking re election.
Tony Graham, Tom Buxton, Kelvin Pettigrove.
There are 2 extra vacancies that can be filled at the AGM. Nomination forms are available in the clubhouse. Forms must be received by the 17th October.
Post AGM there will be opportunities for members to join sub committees in their area of interest and/or expertise.
Stay safe, Keep well.
See you on the course.
