Covid Restrictions eased on Golf Courses

By | Uncategorized

We have received notification from Golf Australia and the Victorian Government Health Department this evening that Covid restrictions have been eased on Golf courses.

This effectively means that we are back to pre covid conditions with rakes back in bunkers, pins able to removed and scorecards able to be shared. You will be advised re score entering on Saturday.

However, we must all recognise that the pandemic can change things overnight and it is our personal responsibility to maintain appropriate health protocols on the course and in the clubhouse.

All visitors and members must register their attendance at the club by signing in using the QR code. The manual sign in should only be used as a last resort. Our compliance with the new rules is essential to ensure that we can continue to enjoy a return to ‘normal’ golf.

QGC recently celebrated its success in the 20/21 year at the Gala Evening.

A fantastic celebration – Oakdene’s Marty created the feast, speeches were made and best costume glasses judged. Auction of QGC experiences, presentation to Club Champion (Mike Havelberg) & other winners, and Super Putt indoors on the special green topped off the night!
Other highlights included spectacular final putt by Karen, Tony Graham’s partner, and special presentations to Club stalwarts Kel Pettigrove & Rod Fenton (QGC Special Recognition) and Fay Neville (Life Membership – the highest award that can be bestowed on a member).

The committee thanks everyone who attended the night and importantly everyone who contributes over the year making QGC such a fantastic club.

5 Day Course Closure

By | Uncategorized
Temporary Course Closure
Unfortunately due to the new COVID restrictions in place, from 11.59pm tonight (12th of Feb) to 11.59pm Wednesday night (17th of Feb), the club will be closed. This means that the clubhouse and course will be closed to both the public and members.
Assuming the lockdown lifts at the end of the 5 days, we will be running an 18 hole stableford comp on the Thursday.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on Thursday.
