You may have noticed work is already underway on the front façade of the clubhouse. This long-awaited upgrade marks the final stage of a re-cladding project that began several years ago and is an important step in presenting our club in the best possible light to our members and visitors.
Thanks to the dedication and expertise of Michael Trevean, Maurice O’Flynn, and professional roofing contractor Ryan O’Flynn, we’re now well on the way to transforming this key entry point.
The re-cladding, based on a design by architect Casto Izzo, will be installed over the existing concrete tiles and finished with new trims and a freshly painted portico. We’re also considering where best to place a large club emblem—either above the portico or to the right-hand side—with guidance from our in-house graphics expert, Greg Jones.

To complete the façade, we aim to raise $9,000 for materials, with all labour donated. An additional $3,000–$4,000 will be needed to finish horizontal corrugated iron work, including the saw-tooth roof visible from the driveway. Altogether, this work will significantly enhance the appearance of the clubhouse and support our brand’s ongoing uplift.
Donations are fully tax-deductible through the Australian Sports Foundation, and every contribution, large or small, will make a meaningful difference.
Once this façade project is funded, we plan to launch fundraising for two more important initiatives:
- Second Fairway Extension – To align with honorary course architect Ross Perrett’s design, the plan is to extend the fairway towards the tee by approximately 35 metres to increase the probability of landing on the fairway, reduce the wetland area, and lift the path access on the left-hand side of the fairway for pedestrians and carts.
- First Hole Landing Area Upgrade – To re-sod and reshape the area in front of the green, including new mounding and clearer buggy/cart parking, improving playability and turf health.
These projects will be fully scoped and budgeted later this year, with planned completion to follow.
Your continued support is what allows us to keep building a club we’re all proud of—on and off the course. We invite you to be part of this next chapter by contributing to the QGC Future Fund through the ASF.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Brad Teal OAM
